THE PRACTICE 

"MEET THE MAT"

 

a practice that carries affirmations + stillness + movement while connecting with your breath + intuition

 

 

THE PURPOSE

 

to create an opportunity to connect + communicate with your present self. To learn how your body moves. to feel the stillness within. to connect with you breath + voice. 

 

 

THE PROCESS

 

daily

no set amount of time meet your yoga mat. 

if possible leave your yoga mat rolled out. i find that i am more likely to go to my mat. 

be here as long as you would like. be gentle to yourself. if its just 5 minutes that is okay. honor this time. 

 

ON THE MAT

 

When you arrive to your mat ask your "present self" what you most feel like doing. This moment is the practice. the deeper practice of connecting with you present self. 

 

 

ASK FOR GUIDANCE

 

Would I like to move? would i like to be still ?

If you would like to move - give your body permission to move. move through yoga poses or gentley stretch. feel your body on the mat. this space is yours. connect with you breath taking deep inhales + exhales through your nose creating space within. 

If you would like to be still - sit in a comfortable seated position, you can place a blanket under your seat or yoga blocks.

words: confident. going through. letting go. becoming. empowered. creating space

breathe out an {I SEE} affirmation

{I SEE} space within 

words: love. grounded.  centered. balanced. healed. 

 

 

this is the MEET THE MAT PRACTICE. this practice contains S P A C E. space to be. to be all you are here in the present moment. as we meet the mat daily we are introducing to our spirits and present self this practice. a practice that carries possibility. a practice that will become with time a daily rhythm in your life. a practice you can take with you as you go on your adventures. if you do not have a mat with you find a space outside or even on the floor and meet your present self. 

this practice is healing. this practice is creates space for you to breathe into all you are and discover you. to explore your thoughts. your desires. your journey. it also creates an opportunity to meet your own stillness. to go into the space within where you connect with your spirit. ask for guidance in this space. go forth in gratitude. just breathe. 

 

HONOR THIS TIME FOR YOU. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO BE YOUR PRESENT SELF HERE. 

 

If your mind is carrying something heavy try the breathing in what you carry and on your exhale the words " i release - i let go" 

stay connected with you breath. this is a beautiful practice that evolves daily. know that you are beginning and this is exactly where you are suppose to be.

 

i carry this practice. i carry being a beginner. i carry practicing.
